About Chocolate Kisses
This piece is one of Godard's newer releases, rendered in the high-contrast, character-driven style that has made him one of the best-known pop artists working today. A favorite for romantic wall art and bedroom or living room decor, it pairs his playful character work with a romantic theme rather than the martini and casino settings he is best known for. The Love Edition is hand-signed and dedicated by the artist, a distinction not offered on the other editions.
The piece appeals to collectors of romantic-themed wall art and Godard's wider catalog of personified-character love scenes. If you are ready to start or grow a collection, browse the full range of Michael Godard art for sale.

Romance in Godard's catalog
Romance and indulgence sit at the center of this piece, a pairing that runs through a great deal of Godard's catalog even outside his cocktail-focused work. As a recent release, it sits alongside titles like Chick Magnet and Christmas Wine as part of Godard's continuing expansion into new subject matter, still built on the same personified-character craft and the hand-signed Love Edition option that gives collectors a more personal way to acquire the piece.
About Michael Godard
Born March 10, 1963, and later based in Las Vegas, Godard studied at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and at UNLV, and spent years working as a draftsman and commercial illustrator, and drumming in Las Vegas bands, before painting full time. A friend's request for a birthday painting about dirty martinis led him to answer with personified, animated olive characters full of attitude, the visual language behind the nickname collectors know him by, the "Rockstar of the Art World."
His pop art is instantly recognizable: personified characters, bold saturated color, and theatrical exaggeration, plus the hidden names, dates, and initials he is known for tucking into his compositions, rewarding repeat viewing. Chocolate Kisses applies that same craft to a romantic theme.
His book Don't Drink and Draw, with a foreword by friend and collector Ozzy Osbourne, was named an Art Book of the Year in 2006. Since 2006, following the loss of his daughter Paige to brain cancer at 16, the artist has maintained an ongoing charitable relationship with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and related causes.
