About Devilish Martini
A green olive styled like a lava lamp glows in the background while a high-class, bejeweled figure sips her cocktail, its stirrer sparkling with jewels, in this entry from Godard's martini and olive catalog. In his own words: "A green olive looking lava lamp is in the background. I love lava lamps. The girl is high class and wearing lots of jewelry. The top of the martini stirrer is sparkling with jewels."
It carries the bold color, sharp outlines, and playful character work collectors associate with Godard's catalog, and it appeals to fans of cocktail and bar wall art and limited edition giclee. If you are ready to start or grow a collection, browse the full range of Michael Godard art for sale.

Where it fits in Godard's martini catalog
Devilish Martini sits within the deep bench of martini-and-olive pieces that built Godard's reputation, each one giving the personified olive, grape, or garnish cast a new setting and a new joke. The mischievous title and jeweled staging make it a natural companion for collectors already drawn to his cocktail-themed catalog.
About Michael Godard
From draftsman and drummer to "Rockstar of the Art World"
Born in 1963 and later based in Las Vegas, Godard studied at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and at UNLV, and spent years working as a draftsman and commercial illustrator, and drumming in Las Vegas bands, before painting full time. The turning point was a friend's request for a birthday painting about dirty martinis: he answered with personified, animated olive characters full of attitude, and that became the visual language behind the nickname collectors know him by, the "Rockstar of the Art World."
The signature style
The olive, grape, and strawberry characters he paints are rarely just decorative, they are cast members with attitude, and Devilish Martini leans into the mischievous side of that cast. The bold black background he favors throws the saturated reds and greens of the composition forward, a staging choice that has become as recognizable as the characters themselves.
Beyond the canvas, and giving back
His book Don't Drink and Draw, with a foreword by friend and collector Ozzy Osbourne, was named an Art Book of the Year in 2006. Since 2006, following the loss of his daughter Paige to brain cancer at 16, the artist has maintained an ongoing charitable relationship with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and related causes.
