Harmony is a limited edition giclée by Michael Godard, a striking departure from the saturated pop-art color he's best known for: a young ballerina in a soft tutu, drawing a violin bow across her arm as though it were the instrument itself, rendered almost entirely in warm sepia and umber tones.
About Harmony
Harmony is part of Michael Godard's expanding catalog of limited edition fine art, and one of his quieter, more painterly pieces. Rather than the bold color and black backgrounds collectors know him for, Michael Godard renders this young dancer in muted browns and golds, with a single blue butterfly resting on the tip of her bow for the one bright accent in the whole composition. The restraint is the point: Harmony shows the same technical control Godard brings to his loudest casino and cocktail scenes, applied instead to a hushed, intimate subject.

About Michael Godard
Harmony asks a simple visual question that Michael Godard has spent decades exploring in different forms: what does balance look like, and here he answers it in a register far quieter than usual, a lone dancer, a bow, and a single butterfly, rendered in warm, muted tones rather than his signature vivid palette. It's a reminder that Godard's technical range extends well past the bold color and comic timing most collectors associate with his name.
