About Michael Godard
"Rose 22" is a Las Vegas casino scene built around his signature olive characters, in which the olives are dropped into a card table, dice game, or slot floor. It was made by an artist whose career runs well outside the boundaries of a typical painter's resume. Godard was born on March 10, 1963, and grew up in Pasadena, California, before eventually settling in Las Vegas, Nevada, the city most associated with his career. He studied at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and later at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
