About The Sandbar

The Sandbar is part of Michael Godard's expanding catalog of limited edition fine art. Rendered in Godard's signature bold, saturated color palette, The Sandbar gives one of his martini glasses to an unexpected new character: a red crab, claw raised and ready for a toast, planted on the beach next to a hand-painted "Sandbar Beach" sign. It's a lighthearted, sunlit variation on Godard's best-known cocktail imagery, and the piece rewards close viewing: he is known for tucking hidden names, dates, and initials into his compositions, giving collectors new details to find long after The Sandbar is on the wall.

About Michael Godard

Michael Godard was born on March 10, 1963, in Southern California and spent his early years in Pasadena before eventually making Las Vegas his home. He trained at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and later at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, education that grounded his instinct for bold composition in real technical skill. Before painting became his full-time career, he also worked in architectural drafting and commercial illustration, and that same disciplined draftsmanship shows in the crisp detail of the crab, the sign, and the martini glass at the center of The Sandbar.
