About Michael Godard
"Tickling the Ivories" is a wine scene set to music, and the grape characters perform, instruments in hand. It belongs to a body of work whose commercial success has helped fund one of the more sustained charitable commitments in contemporary fine art. Since losing his daughter Paige to brain cancer in 2006 at age sixteen, Godard has kept up an active relationship with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Nevada Cancer Institute, and the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation, regularly visiting hospitals to paint with disabled and ill children; St. Jude recognized his support with an honor in 2017.
