About Michael Godard
"Opaline" is a floral composition with a spiritual undertone. As in nearly everything in Michael Godard's catalog, delicate botanical detail replaces his usual cast of characters. The origin of Godard's signature cast is almost accidental: asked to paint a martini-themed birthday gift for a friend, he gave the olives personalities of their own, and the response to that single canvas convinced him he had found his subject.
