About Michael Godard
"Romeo's Secret" is a piece from Godard's Flower Series, and botanical detail and saturated color stand in for his usual cocktail cast. It belongs to a body of work whose commercial success has helped fund one of the more sustained charitable commitments in contemporary fine art. Since losing his daughter Paige to brain cancer in 2006 at age sixteen, Godard has kept up an active relationship with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Nevada Cancer Institute, and the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation, regularly visiting hospitals to paint with disabled and ill children; St. Jude recognized his support with an honor in 2017.
