About Michael Godard
"Tiki Martini" sends two of Michael Godard's personified olive characters into a fire dance, spinning lit tiki torches beside a martini glass with a carved tiki-totem stem, a playful island-luau twist on his signature cocktail imagery. It was made by an artist whose career runs well outside the boundaries of a typical painter's resume. Godard was born on March 10, 1963, and grew up in Pasadena, California, before eventually settling in Las Vegas, Nevada, the city most associated with his career. He studied at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and later at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
