Daily Double is a limited edition canvas giclee by Las Vegas pop artist Michael Godard, offered in a G edition of 500 at 17.5" x 22", a Signed and Numbered edition of 995 at 29" x 39", and a Mosaic Mural edition of 50 at 44" x 55".
Commissioned after Godard had taken a break from painting horses, the piece gets its biggest laugh from the details: some of the horses have only three legs, which, as he points out, is about what you would expect from an olive riding a horse. The gambling and horse-racing theme makes it a natural fit for a game room, home bar, or office.
"I had not painted horses for some time, when a client commissioned this painting. The reaction I get from people over this piece really kills me. You see, some of the horses have only three legs. When people bring this to my attention, I say “oh really! When was the last time you saw an olive riding a horse with four legs?" ~ Michael Godard
This is a gallery wrapped canvas.
- Mural Edition is approximately 44" x 55"

About Michael Godard
Michael Godard, born in 1963, is the Las Vegas painter and former drummer known as the Rockstar of the Art World. Daily Double returns to a subject he had set aside for a while, horses, after a client commissioned the piece, and true to form he hands the reins to one of his personified olives. The three-legged horses are a deliberate gag, the kind of sly detail he likes to plant for viewers to catch, set against the saturated color he has used for more than 30 years.
