About Michael Godard
"Paradise" moves Michael Godard’s grape and wine imagery out of the bar and into open water, setting personified grape characters against an ocean backdrop rather than his more familiar black stage-lit setting. It is one of several pieces in which Godard has adapted his signature cast of characters to a natural setting, a reminder that his style was always built to travel well beyond cocktail glasses and martini olives.
