About Michael Godard
Before Michael Godard was painting a tiger eyeing a martini, he was earning a living through architectural drafting and commercial illustration, disciplines that demand precision, proportion, and patience. He carried that technical training with him even as his subject matter turned toward satire, and it shows in the confident linework underneath even a loose, expressive subject like the tiger in Safari Series: The Tourist. Godard also spent years as a professional drummer in Las Vegas bands, a career he pursued until nearly age thirty.
