The Berry & The Boss sets two personified fruit characters, a glamorous strawberry perched on the hood of a vintage gangster-era sedan and an olive in a fedora and pinstripe suit standing guard nearby, on a moody, lantern-lit bridge at night.
It fits naturally within Godard's grape and cork themed decor and 1930s-inspired wall art, whether in a kitchen, dining room, or wine cellar.
About The Berry & The Boss
The Berry & The Boss is part of Michael Godard's expanding catalog of limited edition fine art. Rendered in Godard's signature bold, saturated color palette, The Berry & The Boss casts its personified strawberry and olive characters as old-Hollywood gangster-movie leads, complete with a classic black sedan and a warmly lit suspension bridge in the background. It reflects the same theatrical composition collectors recognize across Godard's catalog, and the piece rewards close viewing: he is known for tucking hidden names, dates, and initials into his compositions, giving collectors new details to find long after The Berry & The Boss is on the wall.

About Michael Godard
Olives were only the beginning. Once Michael Godard discovered that giving fruit a face and a personality could carry an entire painting, he expanded the idea to grapes and strawberries, building an entire cast of anthropomorphic characters that now populate his catalog alongside his original martini olives. The Berry & The Boss draws directly on that expanded roster, casting its strawberry and olive characters as the glamorous dame and the watchful boss of a vintage gangster-movie scene, playing out Michael Godard's signature personality-driven storytelling against a classic car and a lantern-lit bridge.
Metal Editions
The Berry & The Boss is also available as limited "on Metal" editions, printed on metal with their own sizes and pricing:
