About Michael Godard
"Surgicaltini" is a comic, occupation-themed martini scene. As in nearly everything in Michael Godard's catalog, the olive characters take on a specific trade or profession, one of Godard's favorite comic devices. It started with a request for a birthday gift: a friend wanted a painting built around dirty martinis, and Godard's answer, personified olive characters full of expression, ended up outlasting the occasion it was made for and becoming his signature.
