About Michael Godard
It's All About the Insurance puts Michael Godard's olive characters at a poker table wreathed in cigar smoke, a scene that draws on the same gambling and casino culture that surrounds his Las Vegas home base. Since 2006, following the death of his sixteen-year-old daughter Paige to brain cancer, Godard has taken on a very different kind of stakes, supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Nevada Cancer Institute, and regularly visiting hospitals to paint alongside children facing serious illness, work St. Jude formally recognized in 2017.
