Mike's Marlin takes Michael Godard's olive characters out to sea: three olives crew a sportfishing boat at night as a marlin bursts from the waves at the end of a bent, straining line, with a pair of tropical islands silhouetted against a moody, cloud-streaked sky. Godard painted it in the high-contrast, character-driven style that has made him one of the best-known pop artists working today.
It's a favorite among collectors of Las Vegas pop art, fishing and outdoor-themed wall art, and limited edition giclee, the imagery that first built Godard's reputation as the Rockstar of the Art World.
This is a gallery wrapped canvas.
- Artist's Proof features a 1 Color Paint Embellishment
- Gallery Proof features a 5 Color Paint Embellishment

About Michael Godard
Mike's Marlin puts three of Michael Godard's olive characters aboard a sportfishing boat at night, rods bent against a leaping marlin, and it is a fitting extension of an artist whose Las Vegas roots have never stopped him from painting the outdoors. Godard was born in Southern California in 1963 and later based himself in Las Vegas, but his catalog has always reached past the casino floor and cocktail lounge into subjects like the Safari Series and sea-themed pieces like Mike's Marlin, all painted in the same bold, black-backgrounded style that defines his cocktail-themed work.
