About Michael Godard
Justice, with its scales and its unmistakable sense of judgment, is a good example of how far Michael Godard has taken the anthropomorphic characters that began with a single martini olive. A friend once asked him to paint something for a birthday centered on dirty martinis, and rather than a simple still life, Godard gave the olive in the glass a face, arms, and a personality.
