Calvary is a limited edition giclée by Michael Godard, depicting three crosses on the hill of Calvary in silhouette against a radiant, sunburst sky breaking through storm clouds.
Collectors of religious and spiritual wall art often single out Calvary as the piece that shows a different, more solemn side of Michael Godard's range.
"One of my most spiritual paintings, I tried to imagine myself there. See… i do paint things besides olives. Haha" ~ Michael Godard

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Calvary signed and numbered?
The Signed and Numbered Calvary print is signed by the artist. Every other edition is individually numbered. On canvas these are the AP-G Edition of 250 (18" x 26"), the Printer's Proof Edition of 100 (27" x 40"), and the Mural Edition of 50 (48" x 72"). The metal G Edition of 100 (18" x 26") is a separate edition from the canvas AP-G Edition of 250, so the two 18" x 26" prints are different releases with different edition sizes.
What sizes is Calvary available in?
You can find Calvary in 3 sizes: 18" x 26", 27" x 40", 48" x 72". These sizes run across the G, Signed and Numbered, Printer's Proof, and Mural editions.
Does Calvary come with a certificate of authenticity?
Yes, a certificate of authenticity accompanies every Calvary print, confirming its edition type, number, and that it is a genuine Michael Godard release.
How is Calvary shipped, and is it insured?
Every Calvary print is packed for fine-art shipping and insured in transit. Free Shipping on All Purchases within the US.
Will more editions of Calvary be released?
No. Each Calvary edition is a fixed, finite print run, and once an edition sells out, no further prints of that size or type are produced.
What do the edition types mean (G, S/N, AP, GP, M)?
Each Michael Godard release comes in limited editions that differ by size, rarity, and hand embellishment: G (Giclée) is the core limited edition; S/N (Signed & Numbered) is a larger signed, hand-numbered edition; AP (Artist's Proof) is a scarce proof with a 1-color hand-paint embellishment; GP (Gallery Proof) features a 5-color hand-paint embellishment; M (Mural) is the largest format, and the metal M edition is 5-color highlighted. Original paintings are one-of-a-kind and the rarest of all. This piece is available in: G (Giclée), S/N (Signed & Numbered), AP (Artist's Proof), and M (Mural) editions, on both canvas and metal. About Michael Godard
Calvary stands apart from the cocktail glasses and casino floors most collectors associate with Michael Godard, and that distance is exactly the point: an artist known for pop-art satire and animated olives is also capable of turning toward solemn, weighty subject matter when the moment calls for it. Painted with the same dramatic light and shadow he brings to every canvas, Calvary shows Michael Godard working in a register few of his collectors expect, and one he has said means a great deal to him personally.
